The Google Doodle
The Google Doodle assignment was probably my favorite assignment that I did. I used it as a way to bring several ideas together to form a silly combination. We were asked to animate a cartoon similar to those that are included on the front page of google. We were told to chose someone from history that had died at least 100 years ago and who had been influential in some way. Other than that we had creative freedom which led me to create this fun piece of art.

I wanted to play on the classic myth of George Washington cutting down his father's cherry tree. However, me being me I could not let it be simple so I added comedic twists. My first idea was to include the required words Google into the wooden teeth of Washington. Even though the teeth are also a myth, I still believe that they added a fun twist to the animation. My favorite idea however was the style of animation I chose. For some reason I had this hilarious idea to make it in the style of Japanese anime. This had me and my classmates cracking up and I think it makes the Google Doodle all the more enjoyable.

We were also required to create a storyboard to help us create our animation. Above is my rough layout of a storyboard that helped to to plan out my scenes and character animations.
